design is a good idea
- design consultants, the result of Tim Whitmore & Steven Thomas sharing the same painting studio at Chelsea School of Art
- in practice for over thirty years, acquiring Chris Angell en route & thus becoming Whitmore-Thomas-Angell, or rather more sensibly WTA in 1993
- London based, but working globally
- backgrounds, from shopfitting to fine art, are as diverse as our clients’ projects/briefs/requests
- from automotive to architectural, cruet to quark
and we have:
- created one of the unique lifestyle brands in retailing - Biba - ‘the most beautiful store in the world’ (Sunday Times 1975).
- spent five years working with Paul McCartney designing his recording studios, offices, farms and various homesteads.
- turned the revolving restaurant in the CN Tower from a tourist trap that serves food into a restaurant with a spectacular view.
- after 27 years in practice won the pitch to create the packaging for Spam Lite. Well worth waiting for.
- packaging the complete text and complete works of Shakespeare recorded onto CD-rom for Penguin USA.
- designed the longest running and most successful sales promotion in Europe - the Elephant tea pot for Thé Elephant - in France; a country with an aversion to tea. 350k sold since 1976.
- received the finest accolade in the history of recorded time from Sir Mick: ‘I really dig your artwork man!’ Cool - just dead cool.
